Medea was performed at Illinois State University in our Center of Performing arts.
Our production of Medea centered around the turn of the century in a small southern Appalachian town. We focused on a moment in history when women were valued by their relationship with a man. Without a man, women were nothing. In terms of costumes, I focused on silhouettes inspired by late victorian and early edwardian time period. We used darker jewel jones, earth tones and a pop of bright red that is seen on Jason and Kreon to represent the blood shed in the show.

Our production of Princess Fearless was inspired by the rainbow. It's a children theatre piece so we wanted everything to be bright and colorful and playful. For costumes I was inspired by 90s and early 2000s cartoon characters and was inspired by these silhouettes of these decades as well. I collaborated with all the actors regarding hair since it was important to the author and playwright for natural hair to be celebrated. I worked with each actor and we came up with their hair and makeup looks.

Our production of In Pieces was inspired by the day and night life of New York City. Our design team look at the colors of each and let colors Texture influence our show. For costumes I was inspired by real people in my life and how they dress in their every day life. I designed every lead after a friend of mine and for every one of the ensemble I worked with each actor to make a closet and make sure they were comfortable with how they presented on stage. When it came to colors of the 8 leads, I used colors found mostly during the day in New York and the ensemble wore colors found during the night time to match the set colors.
